Visiting our Church, the Weeping Icon of St. Anna: January 2005

photo

A miracle in our time has happened. In the Church of Our Lady Joy of All Who Sorrows Orthodox Church in Philadelphia, the Icon of St. Anna has begun to weep myrrh. Ihumen Athanasiy, the Pastor of the Church, has been given permission by his Metropolitan to allow the Holy Icon to visit other Orthodox Churches. On Sunday, this Icon came to our Parish Family. All had  the opportunity to venerate the Holy Icon and be anointed with the tears, the holy oil. The Deanery as well as the Orthodox Clergy Brotherhood of Philadelphia were all invited to come and pray with us. A Lenten supper was served for fellowship in the hall afterwards.
